PRADA BAG CHALLENGE: FAB OR FLUB?

It seems appropriate to go from ostentatious Prada handbags to some more subtle ones – but is this subtle or boring? This is the Prada Corda Jacquard B in beige and brown, and I’m kind of on the fence about it. On the one hand, it works very well for what it is. It’s a great day bag for professional women. There is no question that it will compliment suits, skirts, dresses, or the business chic often seen on Casual Friday. Still … is it enough?
Therein lies my problem. I understand the color palette, I just have to question whether or not it works here. Consider this – what if the embroidery accents circling the logo on the front was done in red – or better yet, if there was some complementary silver in there somewhere? It seems to me like they used silver instead of gold – which would arguably work far better, and I am not even a fan of gold – in order to give this bag some attitude, because they recognized how bland it was. However, the efforts fall miserably short.
Yet again, it could be the picture and the lighting used, but concerning the front of the bag, I also question the quality. It just looks messy. In fact, it looks downright sloppy. I can’t tell if it really is or not, but if there is even a chance a bag has a sloppy looking angle, is it really worth buying? So, my verdict? There are dozens of other Prada purses perfect for professional women – I’d say go with one of those unless you’re truly in love with this one.
