Prada Handbags

LOOK! IT’S NOT A MORDORE PRADA BAG!

Nope, kids, I’m sorry. We are through with those particular Prada handbags – at least for the time being. I think you will agree that today’s bag is a more than adequate replacement, though. The Prada Royal Calf Easy Shoulder bag is so frigging cute that I don’t even know what to do with myself. I was staring at it dreamily for about five minutes before I even started writing this.

First of all, I absolutely adore the color of this bag. It’s so easy for grey bags to be depressing, if they don’t have a metallic sheen. This one could have been in even more danger of doing so because the accents and details are primarily grey as well. It’s saved from being bland for several reasons. One of them, I think, is the front buckle: a noticeably lighter shade of grey, it’s something of a mystery to me. It’s almost a conundrum. I don’t want to light it at all, yet I can’t deny that it’s an eye catching piece. The same goes for the shoulder strap, which gives the elegant silhouette a more modern twist. The palette here saves the bag from being a dude as well. Silver links alternate with darker grey, the pattern almost reminds me of barbed wire … and I like that. A lot.

The verdict? I like this bag a lot too. A whole lot. The fact that it leaves me guessing just makes me like it more.

PRADA BAGS ARE BACK IN BLACK

Are we done with the Mordore Prada handbags yet? We most certainly are not! Almost though – for this week, anyway. Don’t get your hopes up for too long – if you’re tired of them, that is. If you’ve fallen in love with them as much as I have, then don’t worry – they’ll keep popping up. I promise.Anyhow, today’s find is the Prada Vitellino Mordore Tote bag. All I can say is meee-ow, that’s hot. This bag is New York Sharp at its very best. It’s pretty but it’s punk. It’s timeless but trendy. It’s subtle and elegant but it’s undeniably funky as well. You have to notice this bag, there’s no way you can’t. And every time you look, there is something else to focus on, something new to see – yet, it isn’t unfocused or disorganized in the slightest.

There is something chunky and eclectic about the accents and the details. They jump out at you when you’re least expecting it. First it’s the zippers. Then it’s the side buckles on the shoulder straps. After that, it’s the logo. Then the neat, almost industrial tag catches your eye, and you wonder how it manages to be both punk and somehow perfect. You wonder, in fact, how this unexpected Prada purse flawlessly holds the balance between sleek and complex.

At least, that’s what you do if you’re me and salivating like one of Pavlov’s pooches at the sight of this hip, trendy Prada purse. The verdict? Pant, pant, pant!

ANOTHER MORDORE PRADA PURSE

Dang right, it’s another of those scrumptious, Mordore Prada handbags – don’t say I didn’t warn you! But come on, be honest: can you blame me? Is anyone out there falling under their spell along with me? If so, then join me: let’s follow the siren song of the luscious Prada Nappa Mordore Tote bag together.

I am loving this metallic trend, I have to tell you. To my eye, this falls under the category of the pewter color I was talking about earlier: not quite black, not quite grey, with a sheen that manages to look both charmingly antiquated and marvelously modern.

I am also loving this simple and elegant phase. In spite of the shimmer and shine, this is not a flashy, ostentatious bag – but neither is it boring. It looks rich – but that richness is wonderfully understated. Rather than screaming noveau riche, it quietly murmurs about the elegant sophistication found in old, old money.

I do have one critique though. Strictly in my opinion, I think this Prada tote might work even better if the silver accents had a tarnished look. I mean, in spite of the chic design, this strikes me as a kind of Goth bag. It’s dark, it’s mysterious, yet it’s irresistible as well. A little tarnish on all that clean, shiny silver would give it an added touch of sensual glamour, and that would be killer. The verdict? Well, despite the pristine prettiness of the details, this is a bag worthy of an Elven princess. And that, I promise, is my last LOTR prop.

THE SHINIEST PRADA HANDBAG IN LIFE

I have issues with a lot of metallic bags. Granted, most of the shimmery, shiny Prada handbags I have seen, I have absolutely loved – but they are usually the darker colored bags. Black, pewter, understated silver – that’s my bag, baby. Gold and copper can go hang, I just don’t dig the shades. But the Prada Nappa Mordore Hobo bag? Rawr! Get me two, please!

This Prada purse is so, so pretty, I could melt into a puddle of goo due to an overdose on the adorable. It manages to be simultaneously preciously feminine and undeniably edgy – yet the two aspects somehow manage not to clash with one another. The silver detailing particularly brings out the beautiful color of the bag – a difficult balance. Gold accenting could have easily made the color palette look garish, thus making the bag itself a catastrophe.

And speaking of the palette … I neglected to look up the particular color of this Prada purse, but I’m pretty sure it’s raspberry. The truth is, I don’t care. They could call it “girly sissy pink” and I would still love it. It’s so fresh, so new, and yet there is something preciously antique about the bag as a whole. The verdict? Perfect for all seasons, a needed but perfectly subtle burst of color, and a very pleasant, pretty surprise.

AN LOTR PRADA BAG ADVENTURE

Sorry, guys, I really just could not resist. The next few Prada handbags we will be looking at are primarily Mordore bags – a variety of Vitellino and Nappa purses, specifically. I can’t help that either, I have fallen hopelessly in love with these bags. First up is the Prada Vitellino Mordore Hobo bags. See – Mordore, “Hobo” kind of looks like hobbit … well, whatever, you get what I’m saying.

Anyhow, from top to bottom, this purse is a winner. It manages to be both elegant and innovative. The body of this Prada bag is class personified. The lines are eloquent, the detailing flawless but subtle, almost understated. Yet it transitions smoothly into the literal modern twist adorning the top handle.

With the signature logo elegantly understated as well, this bag would scream subtle, sleek sophistication – but it’s so subtly rich looking that this purse could not possibly scream. No doubt in would purr in a husky, Garbo like tone instead.

This is the very definition of a day to evening bag, there is no question. It is the perfectly complement for the sharp suits and understated heels of a professional look but just as well suited for a night on the town as well. The verdict? I want, I want, I want!
